A couple of days ago I shared how I used Topaz Simplify to transform a photo into a piece of pop art (click here to view that post). While I LOVE how that photo turned out, some of you may not be interested in the brightly colored, edgy pop art look so I wanted to share a couple of other photos I processed with Topaz Simplify, using some of the pen & ink and painting effects for a more traditional fine art look.

The first photo is one I captured in 2007 while living in Sicily of the fall colors on Mt. Etna.

I achieved this effect using the “Line & Ink 1” preset in Topaz Simplify.

The second photo showcases a lovely flower I found in my parent’s yard last year.

I achieved this effect by clicking “reset” within Topaz Simplify which takes you to your original image. I then adjusted the “Simplify Size” setting to 0.6 and under the Finishing Touches menu I adjusted the Quad Tone Strength to 0.8.

As you can see, Topaz Simplify is a very versatile program! It can easily create pop art, or a fine art painted look with any photograph in just a few clicks of the mouse. Don’t forget that Topaz Simplify is 50% off through February 28, 2014 (use coupon code “febsimplify”) making it just $19.99! A steal, in my humble opinion, and a great addition to any photographers’ toolbox.
