Thirty Days of Thanksgiving | Day 10

Morro Bay, CA | Nixon Rock at sunset | Long Exposure

Today’s photographic subject is the Nixon Rock which sits on the north side of Morro Rock in Morro Bay, CA. This photo was taken from the Morro Strand State Beach during a California Photo Festival class focusing on long exposures, taught by Marc Muench. A 20 second exposure (f/32, 34mm, ISO 100) allowed me to capture the smooth, almost foggy looking water as it wrapped around the rocks.

I captured this photo with an Induro AKB1 Tripod mounted Canon EOS 7D and Sigma 18-200mm Lens and processed it with Lightroom.

Today I am thankful for:

  • Chilly Fall Weather – Finally it feels like FALL! Les & I went to a wedding today and both dug out our wool dress coats for this outdoor event. I love my cold weather clothes!

What are you thankful for today?
