Sunset in La Jolla, CA

A Tuesday evening in Winter after a storm (and by storm, I mean just enough rain to rinse off the car) is a perfect time to be in La Jolla! Parking was a breeze and the sky…oh, the sky was brilliant! I have several photos to share with you over the next week or so, but this is my favorite!
I spent A LOT of time processing this image. It is an 8-exposure HDR captured with my Canon 7D and Canon 24-105 L IS lens (tripod mounted using my Induro Tripod and Really Right Stuff Ballhead/L-plate). My settings were f/7.1, ISO 100, and shutter speeds ranging from 1/4000 to 1/25.
Processing was done in Lightroom, Photomatix Pro, Photoshop, Topaz Adjust, & Topaz Detail.
In case you haven’t heard, Adobe has once again opened up the Photoshop Photography Program @ $9.99/month to anyone! (no previous Photoshop purchase required). Get the details here. I finally signed up in December and have been thrilled with it. Lightroom has been the core of my workflow for years and I’m getting better every day with Photoshop. Its a big program with amazing capabilities!
If you are interested in HDR and other creative processing techniques then don’t forget to check out Topaz and Photomatix Pro. My exclusive coupon code, “angandrieux” gets you 15% off of your purchase, so please check them out! I couldn’t have made the image above without Photomatix Pro, Topaz Adjust, and Topaz Detail.
