Playing With Fire | Steel Wool Photography | Coronado, CA

A New Trend in Creative Photography
Many of you have probably never heard of Steel Wool Photography…I hadn’t until a couple of months ago. Essentially, you take a piece of steel wool, insert it into a whisk, tie the whisk to a rope, light the steel wool on fire, and then swing the rope and create patterns with the light from the fire. It sounds bizarre but makes for an AMAZING photographic effect! For a full how-to tutorial see this article on dPS.
My First Steel Wool Photo Shoot
Earlier this week I joined up with local Meetup group for a Steel Wool shoot in Coronado, on the beach with downtown San Diego as the backdrop. I’ll let the photos speak for themselves:
This photo shoot was SO MUCH FUN! It is like fireworks, but better! I can’t wait to do it again.
