Pismo Beach Street Photography

A few days ago I returned home from nearly a month in California. My time was crammed full of family time and a few visits to my favorite beaches – Pismo Beach among them.
Street Photography at the Beach
The morning I spent at Pismo Beach was breezy and beautiful! It wasn’t the right time of day to shoot landscapes so I focused on the people instead – mostly surfers.
I set my shutter speed at 1/200 or faster in order to freeze the motion of them running into the waves. With my mom’s Canon 70-200 f/4L lens I was able to get great shots of people without being in their faces and looking too conspicuous. I love that lens!
Where to eat in Pismo Beach
After a long walk on the beach I needed breakfast – Old West Cinnamon Rolls was the obvious choice. Perhaps I’m biased because I grew up on the central coast, but they make the BEST cinnamon rolls. I have to visit at least once every time I’m in town. If you’ve never tried their cinnamon rolls you’re missing out!

I’d love to meet you! I’m not sure when I’ll be on the central coast again, but I got your email so I’ll keep your contact info and drop you a line when I’m back in town. Cheers! :-)
