Photography – It’s a Feeling

"Photography for me is not looking, it's feeling. If you can't feel what you're looking at, then you're never going to get others to feel anything when they look at your pictures." -Don McCullin

What is more important in a photograph?

Technical success or the way it makes you feel?

I choose feeling. Every time.

I chose my photo, Rainy Day in Vicenza, to represent this quote because it takes me back to that dreary wet day when I ducked into a garage to get out of the rain for just a moment. There was a lot going on that weekend and emotions were running high (I won’t bore you with the details). Suffice to say that this photo takes me back to a moment of calm in a storm and brings me a feeling of peace each time I look at it. It may not be technically perfect, but its one of my favorites.
