Its almost Photo Walk Season!

Every year, two of the biggest photography-related companies host a photo walk day that that includes participants from around the globe. This year, I’ll be leading the 500px Global Photo Walk in Portsmouth, VA and the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk in Norfolk, VA.

While I’m no stranger to leading photo walks, these will be my first in the Hampton Roads area! I’ve done a lot of research and scouting and hope that the two routes that I’ve chosen are enjoyed by my groups.

The first walk on September 17, 2016 will take us through Old Town Portsmouth and include some time by the Elizabeth river, before wandering the historic neighborhood.

My second walk on October 1, 2016 will start at the Chrysler Museum of Art and explore the area around The Hague (an inlet of the Elizabeth River) and the historic residential area of Ghent.

Both events are free, but registration is required. All lovers of photography are welcome – from the mobile phone photographer to the pro-DSLR crowd!

What is a Photo Walk?

A photo walk is an event where photography lovers gather as a group to explore an area. It is a great opportunity to get to know a new area (or see it thought new eyes) and meet other photographers.

I’ve had the opportunity to participate and lead several photo walks over the years…

Each experience has been unique, but always a lot of fun! I hope you’ll join me on one of my photo walks in 2016 here in Hampton Roads!
