Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument | Arizona

I took a short detour on my way to Sedona to check out the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument.

The cacti are spectacular, some reaching 2-3 stories tall!! I’d never seen saguaros that tall.

Below are a few of my favorites.

Lovely, yes?

I wish I’d had time to capture more sunset photographs. it was a spectacular show, but my hotel room was a solid 45 minutes away in the tiny town of Ajo, AZ where the restaurants closed at 8pm. Sunset was roughly 6:40pm which didn’t leave me a lot of photography time. Ultimately my stomach’s growling won the battle and I put away my gear for the evening sooner than I would have liked.

Check back again soon! More photos from my Arizona road trip are on the way!
