Have you singed up for the Adobe Photoshop Photography Program yet? I’ve had it for about five months now, and I’m hooked – I LOVE having the latest updates. I’ve been a big Lightroom user for years, but didn’t have the resources to stay current with Photoshop. Now, at just $9.99/month (quite affordable, considering what you get) I have the latest and greatest. If you are serious about photography, Adobe’s products are the industry standard for a reason.

The coolest thing about Creative Cloud and the Photoshop Photography Program, is that Adobe is constantly putting out new and improved stuff. Last week they launched Lightroom Mobile which brings a lot of Lightroom functionality to my iPad. Simply sync up a collection, and voila! Its on your iPad, ready to be worked with. The best part? It is already included with my creative cloud subscription! This is pure added value.

Here are a few screen shots from my iPad:

Overall, I’m really happy with Lightroom Mobile. It synced quickly with my desktop version with no issues and provides many of my favorite settings that I can manipulate with the touch screen on my tablet.

There are a few drawbacks, though…I noticed that the perspective correction and lens correction tools aren’t available in the Mobile version, and its also missing the noise reduction and sharpening. All of those tools make a frequent appearance in my workflow, so as of now, Lightroom Mobile isn’t capable of taking over my workflow in a significant way. In addition, for those of you using anything but an Apple mobile device, I’m afraid you are out of luck for the time being as Lightroom Mobile is available ONLY for Apple’s iOS.

That said, this is the first version. I’m sure future upgrades will add a few of these features. For me, since Lightroom Mobile is a free add-on to my existing Creative Cloud membership, I can’t really complain too loudly about an additional tool. It does nothing but add value to my current membership.

In case you were wondering, here is the image I was processing in the screen shots above: I didn’t do anything additional in the desktop version of Lightroom. Not bad, huh?
