Time for another Throwback Thursday! This photo, entitled Hotel Metropole, was captured in Venice, Italy in October of 2009. It is one of my favorites from that trip.
Hotel Metropole
When I took the photo my focus was on the red and white mooring poles; but what I love about this photo is the way my eye makes its way through the scene. Behind the mooring poles we have the private dock for the Hotel Metropole – quite a nice way to arrive in Venice in my humble opinion. Then my eye wanders down the sparkling canal to the people (parent & child) crossing the bridge, and then beyond to the palatial homes in the distance. Venice holds so many stories and is one of the most fascinating places I’ve ever visited.
