Goodbye Summer, Hello Fall! | Torrey Pines Gliderport

How did you spend the last full day of Summer?
I ran a bunch of errands and then went home, grabbed my gear, and headed toward the coast. I drove north to Encinitas, hoping to find a place that wasn’t too crowded. It didn’t work out quite like I’d hoped.
I went all the way up to Swami’s and couldn’t find a place to park so I headed south. I found myself in Del Mar, easily found a place to park and walked out onto the beach. It looked like PB (Pacific Beach) in the middle of summer! Definitely not what I expected for nearly 6pm on a Sunday evening. Granted, it was beautiful, and I didn’t expect the beach to be deserted, but still… SO. MANY. PEOPLE.
I still had about 45 minutes until sunset so I walked briskly back to my car and continued south. I finally found myself at the Torrey Pines Gliderport. I hadn’t been there before so I figured I’d check it out.

The view from the Gliderport was lovely! I watched paragliders come and go, and grabbed a few photos as the sun set. It was a perfect way to celebrate the end of a season.
What did you shoot on the last day of Summer?
