Yesterday I pulled out my macro lens (Canon EF-S 60mm f/2.8 Macro Lens)…its been awhile and I forgot how much fun it is to capture the minute details of something…in this case, flowers…lots and lots of flowers.
I spent the morning at The Flower Fields in Carlsbad. This, I think, is my favorite shot of the day. I love the softness, the vibrant colors, and how just the tip of the petals are in focus.
I love the soft, dreamy feeling you can achieve with the shallow depth of field produced by a wide-open aperture on a macro lens. The photo above was captured at 1/640 sec at f/2.8 and processed with Lightroom and Topaz Detail.
