Fireworks | Vista, CA
Last night I had the privilege of celebrating our country’s birthday at my grandma’s house in Vista, CA with family and friends. We had a wonderful dinner and got to watch perhaps the most spectacular fireworks show I’ve ever seen! Each year the pyrotechnicians outdo themselves and have me staring into the sky with wonder and amazement. Grandma’s house has a fantastic patio overlooking the park where the fireworks are deployed so I think we had some of the best seats in the house.
For the first time, I decided to use my tripod and cable release to capture the fireworks display. It was a lot of fun and a lot of trial & error. I started off trying to manually focus and thanks to my terrible eyesight those came out pretty soft. Once I switched over to auto focus my Canon EOS 7D took over that aspect of the decision making process and did a phenomenal job.
Here are a few of my favorite photos captured with my Induro AKB1 Tripod mounted Canon EOS 7D and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM Lens using a cable release to trigger the shutter. These photos were processed in Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 and Nik Color Efex Pro 4.
I hope you had a fantastic holiday! Have a great weekend!
