Fire in the Sky | Vista, CA

The best place to watch fireworks in San Diego County is my grandma’s porch in Vista, CA. She has a panoramic view of the valley and Brengle Terrace Park – the launching point for the Vista fireworks show. Each year she invites friends and family over to enjoy dinner and the spectacular pyrotechnic display.
I captured 120 photographs last night during the fireworks show. I had my Canon 7D and 16-35 f/4 L lens set up on a tripod with a cable release. I pre-focused earlier in the evening, and was ready when the fireworks started. I had my camera set to “bulb” mode so I could adjust my shutter speed on the go, depending on the frequency and brightness of the fireworks. I found that every 3-4 blasts gave me a pretty good exposure.
I spent some time today culling through my photos and came up with 13 favorites to share. Its a lot, I know…but I love them all! I hope you enjoy them, too.
