I hope you enjoyed my “big picture” photos from the Festival of Sail that I posted a couple of days ago. Today I’d like to share a few of the details that caught my eye.

As a travel photographer, part of my job is to tell a story. I believe the details, the little things that other people barely notice, do a far better job of that than the “big picture” postcard type shots.

There were probably hundreds of photographers who visited the Festival of Sail this past weekend. Many of them probably shot a lot of similar photos, especially the “big picture” kind. But how many of them chose to capture the exact details that I did? The details don’t tell just the story of a place or event, they tell MY story, how I see the world.
