How do you make an abandoned beach cottage look downright creepy?
A bit of texture and creative toning should do the trick.
This little cottage in Pismo Beach, CA has fallen into disrepair. Its been a bit shabby for years, like someone quite eccentric lived there; but now it looks like a candidate for demolition.
I emphasized the sorry state of this tiny house in Topaz Texture Effects. The gritty texture mimics the gritty feel of the scene. I also creatively applied blur and vignetting to make the cottage stand out from the apartments behind it.
Topaz Texture Effects is quite versatile. It has a wide range of textures that can be added to photos (not just creepy/gritty). You can see a few of the other photos I’ve worked on in Texture Effects here and here.
