ClickCon 2021 Recap

Recently, I had the amazing opportunity to go to Chicago for ClickCon with Skylum Software. I spent most of my time working at the Trade Show representing Skylum and Luminar AI, but I did have a few opportunities to pull out my camera, and WOW…what an experience!

For those who aren’t familiar with ClickCon, it is a multi-day photography conference focused on portrait photography…but not boring, bland portraits…we’re talking wild, fantastical setups that set my creative synapses on fire!

This conference had a lot of “firsts” for me

  • First time at ClickCon
  • First time on a plane since Covid
  • First time meeting my Luminar Coffee Break co-host, Vanelli in-person
  • First time photographing professional models (I don’t often photograph people)

Needless to say, it was a whirlwind week (and I mean that in the most positive way)!

I have a TON of photos I want to share, so rather than creating a massively long blog post, I’ll share a few of my favorites here and post the rest over the next few weeks to my Instagram account.

This is only a small handful of my photos from ClickCon, but definitely among my favorites. As you can see the scenes, costumes, and models were spectacular!

All of the photos in this series were processed with some combination of Lightroom Classic, Photoshop, Luminar AI, and Topaz DeNoise AI.

ClickCon 2022

If this looks like fun (trust me, it was), the next ClickCon is currently planned for June of 2022. Get the details here. If you’re like me (more comfortable photographing subjects that don’t talk back) I still encourage you to go to workshops like this. It will grow your skills, stretch you creatively, and you’ll come away with some great portfolio images.

Questions?

If you have questions about ClickCon, these photos, or the processing techniques that I used, leave me a comment below or contact me directly. I’d love to hear from you!

Angela – it was truly epic to see you in person, and in your element. Teaching, connecting w/ other photographers, and, dare I say it?, taking photos of people. ;)

Seriously, you are a bright angel(a) in every room. Thanks for joining V and I on this journey – Onward, Ever Onward!

Hanging out with you & V in Chicago was a blast! I’m so lucky to have colleagues that I can count among my friends. :)

Great images! What was it like to finally meet Vanelli in person? :)

Thanks, Holly!! V in person is a lot like V on Zoom! He’s a great storyteller and jokester. We had a blast!
