Change and Uncertainty

Sometimes this daily blogging thing sneaks up on me. It is almost 10pm and I’m ready to wind down, but oops! I haven’t blogged yet! So, here I am.
“Things change. And friends leave. Life doesn’t stop for anybody.” -Stephen Chbosky
Change and uncertainty are clouding my “thankful thoughts” today. I searched the web for a quote about change and found the one above. I think it speaks to military life…and life in general. Things are always changing. Life doesn’t stop. It can be utterly overwhelming.
Every few years military families move. It is a reality that I love and hate. Next year it will be MY reality (maybe). My husband is up for orders which means he’ll be moving to a different command. We are hoping to stay in San Diego, but right now that does not look terribly promising. Our list of options is short and not what we’d hoped for. We are evaluating options now, but may not know for several months what next year will bring.
With that said, today I am thankful…
- That my husband has a job
- That I have a partner to face this less-than-appealing situation with
- That no matter where we end up (San Diego or elsewhere) we’ll make an adventure out of it
What are you thankful for today?
