Balboa Park Like You’ve Never Seen It Before | San Diego, CA

The day after Christmas my mom & I were able to sneak off for a bit of photo fun. Our evening out ended at Balboa park on a crispy cold night. (Thank goodness for fingerless gloves!! They’ve earned a permanent place in my camera bag.)
I’m not sure how much of the lighting display was specifically for Christmas or if some or most of it will be up all year for the centennial celebration (thats right, Balboa Park is 100 years old!) but the buildings were awesomely lit with rotating colors.
Here are a few of my favorites from that evening:
When I first started editing these photos my grandma was here. She asked if it was my fancy software that created all of the colors. For once, the answer was NO! :-) The lighting displays were incredibly vivid, making for truly unique photos without a ton of manipulation. Processing on these images was done exclusively in Lightroom.
