Skylum is taking the best of Luminar AI, Luminar 4, and a ton of customer feedback to create their best yet iteration with Luminar Neo. I’ll be sharing specific new features as they are announced, but this is your chance to pre-order at the lowest possible price.

Here is a sneak peek at some of the new and innovative tech we have to look forward to:

Layers + AI-Driven Compositing

Apply any tool and any mask…to any layer, in any order, multiple times.

^^This is the feature I’m MOST excited about!!! Combine this with some of the tools below, and Neo has the potential to be very powerful.

Transform photos with new relighting options

Luminar Neo analyzes each image to recognize the depth of a scene and its subject which allows precise control over exposure and tone.

Luminar Neo | Relight in one slider

Remove blemishes and distracting elements

Luminar Neo automatically recognizes and removes artifacts caused by a dirty camera sensor or lens, and new tools make removing unwanted background elements easier than ever before.

Luminar Neo | Remove dust spots automatically
Luminar Neo | Clear up your image from unwanted power lines

Powerful background replacement

Take full control of the background for portrait photos by quickly replacing it with an all-new image or background.

Remove the background in one click

Who is Luminar Neo for?

Luminar Neo is built for the photographer who loves creative editing. With its precise controls and flexible editing options, your imagination is the only limit.

What’s happening to Luminar AI?

Luminar AI isn’t going anywhere. Just think of Neo as a new member of the family.

  • Luminar AI is great for photographers who love being behind the camera and need quick, high-quality edits.
  • Luminar Neo, on the other hand, is for the photographer who loves the creative process and wants complete control over the final output.

Thanks for sharing the news, Angela. I am definitely curious about AI Compositing and the Relight feature. I know layers are super-powerful, and I know how to use them, I just don’t like to rely on them *all the time* to get things done. So, in my opinion, it will be interesting to see how much Luminar Neo will depend on layers to deliver max creativity.

I don’t use layers all of the time, either, but the ability to use tools multiple times makes me happy! It is one of the features from Luminar 4 that miss the most. It’s exciting to see where it goes and to be a part of it!

Excellent! I’m so excited to share it with everyone! Winter can’t get here fast enough. :)

This is just what I, and many others have been crying out for!! L4’s layers and the best of AI’s great tools…and more great ones by the looks of it. I do hope it will support plug-ins now that it has layers. I use Aurora and Topaz DeNoise and Sharpen as plug-ins with L4
I was so eayer to sign up for this I think I pressed the wrong button!!! I have paid €59 for 2 seats which I assumed was for existing customers but it looks like there is a better deal…..oh well

    • Angela Andrieux on September 11, 2021 at 10:41 am

Hi Nigel! With layers coming, 3rd party plugin support shouldn’t be far behind. From what I know right now, it isn’t expected at the initial release, but will very likely be added soon after. As for your purchase price, 2 seats with the loyalty discount should have been $49 USD – I think that should also be €49, but I’m not sure about that. Reach out to and they can take care of a partial refund for you.
