You guys, I’ve been having SO MUCH FUN with the new AI Sky Replacement tool in Luminar 4!! I wasn’t sure about it when it was first announced, but now that I’ve had some time to work with the beta version, and see just how well it works, I’m sold.

I’d messed around with replacing skies with other software in the past but had never been very satisfied with the results. It was tedious work, and always looked just a little bit fake. I know there are folks out there that have perfected the technique in Photoshop…but I wasn’t one of them.

Now, with Luminar 4 I can replace skies, and it is SO EASY! You still have to pay attention to the direction of light and a few other factors to make it look natural, but it is no longer super difficult – which makes it extremely fun!

Hi Angela. I’m looking forward to my new workflow – Create a Stamped Layer or Smart Object in Photoshop then using the plugin to Luminar 4 to add the sky.

Hi Evan – You’re going to love it! For all of the images in this article I used the Luminar 4 beta as a plugin with Lightroom and it worked flawlessly on my mid-2015 MacBook Pro.
