Across the Seine | Paris, France

Today I felt like flipping through old photos and came across this photo from our anniversary trip to Paris in 2007 – five years ago! This coming Friday will mark 9 years for us. Its hard to believe so much time has passed!

I took this photo hand-held with my Canon EOS Digital Rebel – thats right folks, the original! :) Remember when 6 megapixels was HUGE? HA! Oh how times have changed.  Still, with my ancient DSLR I got a lot of great shots that trip, even though I didn’t have a clue what I was doing (I was still in point-and-shoot mode back then). I was using my 18-55mm kit lens and thanks to metadata files I can see that when I zoomed to 27mm my camera thought I should be on ISO 100 and 1/40 sec at f/4.5. I did a bit of processing in Lightroom to boost the clarity and lighten up the shadows.

Thirty Days of Thanksgiving | Day 12

Today I am thankful for:

  • The roof over my head – Today we had a bit of a disappointment in the real estate realm. Things were moving forward with a place that we really liked and at the last minute they got a higher offer and we lost it. Still, I am thankful for a roof over my head. Shelter is one of those base needs that is so easy to take for granted.
  • Hugs from my husband – I’m grateful that he is around to give me a hug and reassure me that we will eventually find a home to buy.

What are you thankful for today?
