A Pause in the Midst of Chaos

A month ago we were still waiting on orders. We’d been waiting for over eight months. (For those who don’t know, my husband is a US Navy Sailor.)
We finally got word a few weeks ago that we are moving back to San Diego! We’ll be back amongst family and friends and couldn’t be happier…but that bit of news also set in motion a series of events that cast our lives into chaos.
Our movers will be packing up our belongings tomorrow – roughly 3 weeks after receiving our orders!
We’ve spent the last several weeks getting ready for our movers. While we don’t have to pack everything up ourselves, we do have to sort through out belongings and decide what we want shipped, what stays with us for the next couple of months, and what we no longer need.
Between getting ready to move, the Thanksgiving holiday, and regular work stuff I’ve had very little time to create photos. Today, however, I got a brief and unexpected break so I decided to pull out my camera to capture photos of the epic fall color that is literally in my backyard. I’m going to miss the fall colors of the east coast!

Fall Colors in my Backyard
This photo was captured handheld with my Canon 6D and 24-105 f/4 L lens. Processing was done with Luminar and Lightroom.
When life throws me into chaos, it helps to pause and take notice of the beauty around me. A walkabout in my backyard with my camera was exactly what I needed to clear my head.
