Last Saturday I led the 500px Global Photo Walk in Portsmouth, VA – my first photo walk in Hampton Roads.
I suppose I use “led” loosely as the only attendees for were me and my husband. Still, we had a great time and covered a lot more ground (i.e. more steps for the Fitbit) than we would have with a group.
We started by walking the waterfront along the Elizabeth River and then through the neighborhood and shops of Old Town Portsmouth.
For this photo walk I opted to go with a very simple camera configuration – just my trusty Canon 6D and 50mm f/1.8 lens. Photo walks are a great way to get out and explore a new area. Old Town Portsmouth is absolutely charming with so many interesting details to photograph. I hope to go back again soon!
I’ll also be leading the Scott Kelby Worldwide Photo Walk in Norfolk in a couple of weeks. I hope you’ll join me!
