My photographic style spans many genres, and my editing needs can vary greatly from photo to photo. To make life simpler (and get back behind the camera faster) I need an editing application that is flexible and can be customized to meet my needs.
Luminar 2018 has several features that make editing painless and can be infinitely customized to fit my workflow. Here are 3 fantastic features that give me creative freedom and make my life easier:
- Non-destructive project files – Luminar 2018 has its own proprietary file type that will save your photo with all of your edits, and is re-editable if you ever decide to go back and make changes.
- Customizable Workspaces – If you have a set of tools/filters that you find yourself frequently using you can save them as a Workspace which will quickly and easily place your most used tools at your fingertips. You can even set a custom Workspace as Luminar’s default so it will load up automatically when you open the app. You can also create several types of workspaces if you work in different genres of photography.
- Ability to Mask Filters and/or Layers – In most applications masks are applied on a layer-by-layer basis. With Luminar 2018 you also have the option of masking individual Filters (effects) – even if they are on the same layer!
